It was not working when I bought it. I had to troubleshoot which took many hours. I replaced two bridge rectifiers, a voltage regulator, diode and a couple of capacitors plus checked for cold solder and reflowed. Deck is back now, new belts, idler . records and plays very well. frequency response all the way to 20kz. The one issue I noticed is that the erase head doesn't do a great job with pre-recorded metal tapes. so if you want to record on metal tape better use fresh ones. having said that, THIS Deck récords great on normal and cr2 tapes. price is modest, I'm not charging for the many hours of service since I am an amateur.
