Up for sale here is this complete rebuild kit for the Pioneer SX-1250. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-1250, and includes the correct size replacement main filter capacitors. This does not include new lights, fuses, or any resistors. This also does not include the driver or output transistors. If you need to replace the big white emitter resistors I have those here. I also have new OnSemi MJ21195G/MJ21196G output transistors here if you need them, though if your receiver is working you don’t need to replace the outputs. Each amp board uses 4 outputs (2 pairs), and you should replace all 4 on the channel if you are replacing any. Please don’t buy any of the Chinese output transistors on eBay–those are counterfeit and will blow up. I also have a complete incandescent light kit available here, and a complete LED light kit here. This kit includes replacements for all the electrolytic and tantalum capacitors in the receiver, including the four main filter capacitors, which are replaced with 22000 uf 100v Chemi-Con caps, which were Made in USA in mid-2022. The new caps are the same diameter as the old ones so they will fit the old clamps perfectly. Please note that the screws on these are thicker than the screws on the old main caps, so you’ll need to enlarge the terminals on the receiver in order to accommodate this. You can drill out the old ring terminals and center mounting piece with a 5mm drill bit if you want, or just replace the old ring terminals, or cut the ring terminals open to make them into spade terminals. There are four 2.2 uf 250v Panasonic film bypass capacitors included as well, and there are a total of 10 1 uf 250v Panasonic film caps included to replace the 1 uf mylar caps on the amp, EQ, and filter amp boards. The kit also includes replacements for almost all the transistors on all the boards, except the amp driver transistors and the tuner board transistors. The kit for the power supply includes replacement diodes and zener diodes, which are important to replace, and there are two new Omron relays included–one for the protection board and one for the chassis-mount soft-start relay, which is vital to replace. The new soft-start relay is a slightly different package than the original, so you will need to take the old relay out of its case, take this new relay out of its case, and then put the new relay in the old case in order to mount it. It’s pretty easy. You will also receive detailed instructions to help this rebuild go more smoothly. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. These are the same parts I use when I rebuild Pioneer equipment. I have rebuild quite a few SX-1250s (and 850s, 950s, 1050s, etc) in the last few years. The SX-1250 is the king of Pioneer receivers (I personally favor it over the SX-1980), and it deserves a high-quality rebuild. Capacitors are Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Panasonic FC, Wima film, Panasonic film, Illinois (the 470 uf 100v axial power supply caps), and Chemi-Con for the main filters. This kit includes a total of 245 parts, which is more than almost any other kit I sell. This will be a long, slow rebuild. The parts for each board are individually bagged for ease of installation, and the instructions will tell you how the transistors and diodes go in, but there are a LOT of parts to replace here, so if you do not have a lot of experience with vintage gear I would not recommend starting with this one. You should know what you’re doing and have a good soldering iron, a desoldering gun such as a Hakko FR-301, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with 100W or 150W incandescent bulb.
