Up for sale here is this set of 4 brand new Nippon Chemi-Con 18000 uf 100v capacitors. These are drop-in replacements for the main filter caps in the Adcom GFA-555 and GFA-555 II amplifier. These are the same capacitors I use when I am rebuilding vintage gear. These measure 63.5mm (2.5″) in diameter and 80.6mm (3.175″) tall, and use screw terminals. The screws are included. The original Adcom capacitors were 15000 uf 100v, so these are a little higher in capacitance, but they will work great with no issues, and will slightly improve the sound. These are authentic Made in USA capacitors. The current batch of capacitors I am selling has 30C32L codes on them, and the boxes are dated 2340, so these were made the 40th week of 2023. A note about installation: Main filter capacitors are usually used to provide the positive and negative rails to the amplifier section, so one of them will appear to be wired backwards (with positive to chassis ground). This is normal. Before you replace your capacitors, take some clear pictures of the wiring so you will know how to connect the new ones. If your equipment starts blowing fuses after replacing the main filter capacitors, you probably wired one backwards. US shipping and handling is $12, and international is $50. 2 New 10000 uf 80v Main Filter Capacitors Sansui 8080 9090 EXACT FIT 40mm
Up for sale here is this set of 2 brand new Nippon Chemi-Con 10000 uf 80v capacitors. These are drop-in replacements for the Concept 6.5, Pioneer QX-9900, Pioneer SX-737, Sansui AU-999, Sansui 881, Sansui 8080, Sansui 9090, Kenwood KR-9600, and many others. They fit the old clamps perfectly! These are the same capacitors I use when I am rebuilding vintage gear. These measure 40mm in diameter and 50mm tall. Each capacitor has five terminals, but you only need to use two of them. There is one negative (marked on the side), one positive (directly across from the negative), and three dummy lugs. These are a bit shorter than the original caps, and have more capacitance than some of the originals, but they are perfect replacements and will work great. The Kenwood KR-9600 and the Pioneer QX-9900 use four capacitors each, so you’ll want to set the quantity to 2 so you get 2 pairs. Please see my pictures for details. The screws are included, but you may need to reuse the old screws depending on how thick your chassis is. The original McIntosh capacitors were 9300 uf 45v, and these are 15000 uf 100v. The increased capacitance will not be an issue, and will improve the sound.
