The scarcity of good, honest techs who can do good and reasonably priced restoration/rebuild of audio equipment inspired me to create this restoration kit. In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. It is the same as with car tires; one should never replace just one tire and keep the other worn-out tires on. A proper rebuild requires a full recap of all PCBs.On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, the wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced, and costs are sky-high. I have been servicing audio equipment for many years and have developed deep respect for all good equipment. Knowing how amazing and warm these units can sound, I decided to put together this kit. Up for sale here is this new “Audiophile” stereo amplifier. This is a really neat little stereo amp. It is 2 watts per channel, and sounds really good. This is a nice basic amplifier–just a volume control, one set of RCA inputs, and a set of left/right speaker outputs. The speaker outputs are a 4-pin jack, but this listing also includes a plug that mates with the jack, as well as wires to hook up your speakers, though you can attach your own speaker wires to the jack if you want. Also included is an AC adapter to power the amp and a 1/8″ plug to RCA cable adapter so you can hook up an iPod or phone as a source. This was originally created in the mid-1990s, as part of a project that didn’t work out, and it has been waiting for a new home since then. This is Made in USA, believe it or not. It is a very simple circuit, with just an LM1877N IC chip, a few capacitors, a few transistors, two diodes, a power switch, power LED, volume control, and the input/output jacks. It sounds surprisingly good and gets pretty loud for the size. The amp itself measures 5″ x 2.5″ x 1.625″ and weighs around 4 ounces. The AC adapter weighs twice what the amp does! This is guaranteed to work great for you. US shipping and handling is $10, and international is $28. FAQs: Does it have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or anything else like that? No, it’s just a regular amp. No Bluetooth or Wi-Fi or anything. Is there a remote? No, no remote. Is there any sort of protection circuit? No, no protection circuit or relay or anything. It’s a very basic circuit, nice and simple. Is there any other equipment like this? Matching speakers or anything? No, nothing else, just this. If I short the speaker wires, what happens? The chip dies, most likely. I have replacement chips available here if you need one. Do you have any specs? Reviews? Nope. You can buy it, test it, and review it, if you want. Is it really just 2 watts per channel? Yes, 2 watts per channel. The first watt is the most important, anyway. How do I open it up? Just pull off the rubber feet–there are screw holes under the feet, and you can easily open it up. Any known issues? If your cell phone is very close to it there may be a little interference. Can I just buy the amp, AC adapter, cables, or some combination? No, it’s a package deal for $25. Is this the coolest thing ever? Yeah, it’s pretty sweet. What all do you get in this listing?
