Amperex Orange Globe (Siemens ?) EL34 Tube – Used – Amplitrex 76% Gm
Up for sale, a vintage Orange Globe logo Amperex EL34. I’m guessing this is late 60’s manufacture since that’s the heyday of the orange globe tubes. I’m not an EL34 expert but believe this to be a Siemens made tube. See pics. Test results are included in the images. Sorry, no box. This will ship wrapped in bubble wrap. My test rig is shown below for reference. I feed the tester with 116.4V sine power (my wall voltage is all over the map, frequently approaching 130V in the summer months). This allows for absolute consistency with testing and/or matching. All tests are run in Fixed Bias mode which produces the most conservative numbers. US bidders/buyers only please. These are the best sounding EL34 tubes I have for sale. I’ve always loved the sound of the fat base 1950s-early 1960s Mullard xf1 tubes and I still do but I can honestly say these defeat the Mullard xf1.
