Marantz 2220B Receiver Ultimate Upgrade Kit Genuine Parts Restoration

Our Ultimate Kit for Marantz Receivers includes everything you need to electronically restore and upgrade your Marantz. This kit includes: 59 Capacitors36 Transistors & Diodes 5 Bourns Trimming Resistors The included filter caps are upgraded in capacitance (from 6,800uf to 10,000uf) and voltage (35v to 50v) which will result in better bass and dynamics. The 2220B used two different relays over it’s lifespan, they are not interchangeable. This kit does not include the relay (and is priced as such) but if you open your unit up and let us know what relay you have, we stock both and will include it for an additional $16.00 if so desired. You can easily ascertain which relay you unit uses. The more common relay has a clear cover while the rare relay has a milky looking cover. Electrolytic Caps drift and fail with time leading to a less detail, transient response, weak bass and mushy overall sound as well as potential failure leading to costly repair. In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. Marantz 2220B Complete Rebuild Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap Caps Transistors

Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for a Marantz 2220B (not the 2220). This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the Marantz 2220B P800 power supply board, P400 phono EQ board, P700 amplifier board, PE01 preamp board, and all four tuner boards, plus it includes upgraded replacement main capacitors. This does not include new lights, fuses, or output transistors. The correct replacement output transistors are two MJ21195G (replaces 2SA627) and two MJ21196G (replaces 2SD188), available here. Please do not buy any of the Chinese output transistors listed on eBay–these are counterfeit and may damage your receiver. The 2220B uses a protection relay, located on the amplifier board. There are two different versions of the 2220B–the common one uses a normal MY2 relay, and one (less common) uses a small milky-white LC2 relay. The kit does not include a relay, but I would strongly recommend replacing it. Open up your 2220B, take a look at the amp board, and figure out which relay you have. Then use “add to cart” on the kit as well as either the larger MY2 relay or the small milky-white LC2 relay. When you check out, shipping will combine automatically. The transistors and diodes are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi subs for the original transistors. These are extremely high-quality parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild Marantz equipment. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding a receiver is moderately complicated, and you should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with a 60W or 100W incandescent bulb.
